Still not time to go yet

It is only 9:30 and I'm re'd to go. I'm leaving early because...well, because I can. It's slow anyway, which is why I'm blogging right now. I've also decided that I will be taking the week of the RNC off because...well, also because I can and I have no desire to deal with any of the bullshit that will be associated with it.

Nothing new is going on with me. I am still working too much and making too little. Today is payday at both jobs and both checks are already spent spent spent. I haven't even bought groceries in forever. Not that I really need to since I have a shit-ton of pasta to eat, except one gets tired of pasta pretty quickly which is when she switch to rice. How does a poor person on a low-carb diet survive?

In the good news department, season 5 of The Wire will be out on DVD later this month. Yippie! I deliberately avoided reading the TWoP recaps because I didn't want to be spoiled. Of course, I know some of what happens (OMAR!), but not enough that it will destroy the season for me. That will be $14 well spent. So excited!

What else? Ummmmm, I'm working on a stocking cap. It'll be cute. Can't decide if I'll keep it for myself or give it to one of my Babies. I'm such a terrible auntie. I haven't mailed Lisa's and Kayla's presents and I don't even have anything made for Jess yet. Granted, I don't know her address since she is living in Milwaukee with SmokeB or whatever his name is. I really hope he's not an asshole to my niece and if he is, I really hope she's smart enough and confident enough to send his punk ass packing.

It's been two weeks and I'm still rocking the 'fro. It's here to stay for a while because I had some trauma after removing the cornrows last time. I found a significant patch of hair missing from my head. Only time will tell if it will come back. I really need a good deep conditioning and a trim. I can't remember the last time I got a hair cut. Perhaps if I got rid of the nest of split ends, I could get some growth going and cultivate the giant crop of Angela Davis-like naptural hair I so desire.
